Thank you for joining me as I officially launch My Menopause Blog. If I could figure out how to do an audio post, you would hear a drum roll, followed by a chirpy Ta Da!
First there was Menopause the Musical. Now, there’s Menopause the Blog!
Please allow me to show you around my new snazzy cyberdigs.
Starting on the left side, at the top, you will see me in black and white. I’m actually dressed in orange but for the sake of artistic effect, we opted out of a colour picture. If you click on View Profile, you will find out a bit more about how my head is screwed on when it comes to menopause, who discover My Period and how peri-menopause and I are getting along.
Under my mug shot is Categories, where I list a whack of titles that I use to file my daily posts under. So let’s say you want to find out about Saliva Testing, or at least what my experience has been. Click on the link and every post I’ve written about the rather strange process is right there.
Speaking of posts, which appear in the middle, the most recently written one always appears at the top of the page. Each is time and date stamped. This feature has been most helpful given my memories charming new trait of wandering off. I read my own blog to remind myself of how I’m doing.
If you’re new to the blog, you might want to start at the bottom and read up in order to catch the sequential order.
And don’t be shy. Do leave your comments. Click on the link, under the post that has just fired up your response system and tell me what you think.
Back to the left hand side, under Categories, we have Archives. Archives are posts ordered chronologically. So if you want to start at my first blog post, and find out what the hell I was thinking, go there. I do.
Next, I have something called an RSS feed. I will admit that my knowledge gets shaky here. What I know is that an RSS feed let’s you know when a blog has been updated. Menopause, at least mine, isn’t exactly fast breaking news, so this maybe extreme. But, I do post daily, unless I forget.
Technorati keeps tabs or actually, tags on 29 million blogs, including mine. If you click on the link, and type in Sue Richards, you will get a pile of blog post links to stuff I write about plus links about the other Sue Richards of the world, like my secret alter ego, the Invisible Woman.
From here we have the commercial section with info about how advertisers can advertise plus advertisements.
Moving right along to the right hand column, more ads, which click to different websites that you may want to check out. These ads by the way, pay the bills, so do have a gander.
Sites by Sue would be me and my empire of cyberspots and the funky Breast of Canada calendar I publish. Club Meno is the gaggle of menopausal bloggers that I keep tabs on. Linky Links are more Technorati features which you may want to explore. Barking Dog Studios are the clever creatives that designed this blog.
At this moment, if I could offer you a glass of wine and some snacks I would. Instead I’ll invite you to hang around, get to know the site and let yourself out when you’re ready.
Please come back. And do bring the menopausal you know.

I remember those days. Mine went amiss somehow and turned very nasty with type 1B cancer. So under the knife and away with all the womenly organs. No Chemo as I had the best cancer one could get, if you consider cancer as being “good”, it was specific to a nasty menopause. I thank my Mom for passing on her genes as I never had hot flashes like the way some describe a HOT flash….. The memory thing is real. I forgot, oh yes………memopause was a piece of cake for me. Even the operation was good, ha ha tried to send me home the next day…..no thanks…..I wanted the little holiday that comes with surgery. So I stayed 2 days and back at work part time for a few weeks and then full time. Now I must deal with the idea that somehow I am suddenly turning 59. What happens then…60 oh my god…..I can’t that old. Something is wrong here and it can not compute. Memopause will seem like nothing, just wait, 60 is looking scarier than anything else.

Be brave my friend. Sixty is the new 45…er is 45 the new 60….geez I get confused which is which.

Your words create for me an experience to look forward to . Still a few years away from the experience myself, but your humour and style of describing this time of change is a refreshing shift from the usual negativity that describes menopause. Keep being that refreshing, inspiring and eclectic woman who openly shares her story.
I’ll be checking back regularily to infuse myself with your mentoring abilities.
Congatulations on your snazzy new cyberdigs. Pround to have visited on your launch day!

I, too, get great inspiration from visiting daily.
