Earlier this week, I attended a workshop titled: Let’s Talk About Hormones. I have scads of notes to digest and handouts to read which of course I’ll get right on. But before I dive in, I wanted to offer up this information…mostly due to it’s application to my life. And perhaps yours.
One of my health workers has just recommended that I get a supplement to support my adrenals. According to him, my current and chronic stresses which include my new peri-menopausal me, are reeking havoc on my adrenal glands.
Well imagine my surprise when low and behold, adrenal glands came up at the hormone talk. Given the glands management position with your hormones…and the fact that menopause is all about hormones, a giant 100 watt bulb of light binged on over my head.
HORMONES….ARE RUNNING MY WORLD!! MUST UNDERSTAND HORMONES MUCH BETTER OR ELSE MY WORLD WILL RESEMBLE A TRAIN WRECK!
Adrenalfatigue.org has this to say about the function and role of our adrenals. “The adrenal glands mobilize your body’s response to every kind of stress (whether it’s physical, emotional or psychological) through hormones that regulate energy production and storage, heart rate, muscle tone, and other processes that enable you to cope with the stress. Whether you have an emotional crisis such as the death of a loved one, a physical crisis such as major surgery, or any type of severe repeated or constant stress in your life, your adrenals have to respond. If they don’t, or if their response is inadequate, you will experience some degree of Adrenal Fatigue.”
The site goes on to describe me…er…adrenal fatigue in more detail. Meanwhile, I’ve got me a new supplement to add to my routine three times a day.

Hello, I was just reading your Blog and I found it to be very interesting. in April I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (Hashimoto Thyroiditis) where my Gynecologist perscribed Synthroid. My levels at that time were 7.56 and now after changing to the brand name and the time of day that I take it, my level is down to 3.5. My cholesterol used to be below 200 and now it at 239.
I found this website and I began to read on about Hypothyroidism and Cholesterol levels and then came across information on Estrogen Dominance. Well, it’s a bit scary, I had every symptom except one. So, I made another appointment with my Gyn and family doctor to have my cholesterol checked and to have a complete Estrogen workup which gets done tomorrow. I also began to see a dieticion hoping to lose the weight that I gained and to keep from having heart problems since heart disease runs in the family from obesity. Well, I am almost 100 lbs overweight even though I don’t look like it and I eat very healthy. Sooo,
Thank you for having this site and thank you for all of the information. I truly enjoy reading.
P.S. What supplement did you start taking for your adrenal fatigue?

Hello,
I also would like to know what supplement to take for Adrenal Fatigue?
My doctors increased my thyroid hormones from 60mg to 90mg. The doctor did not do all the recommended testing for Thyroid. I wanted the Free T-3, Free T-4, TSH and Antiobodies. He only did the Free T4 and Tsh.
I take Armour thyroid. I also have BHRT which includes Testosterone and Progesterone.
I have all the symptoms of adrenal fatigue along with Basiliar Joint arthritis, gluten and lactade intolerance, osteorporsis. I take lots of vitamins so I don’t know which other one is left to add.
Any suggestions would be appreciated since I can’t talk to my doctors. They only deal with prescriptions drugs and are absolutely clueless.
