HRT is back.
That’s Hormone Replacement Therapy for the acronym challenged.
Let’s be clear. HRT is not back because it’s safer. Nor has it been discovered that the Gold Standard Study by the Women’s Health Initiative was poorly executed.
From what I see from my perch, it boils down to this. Health care providers believe that effective menopause relief is scarce. They simply don’t know what else to prescribe.
HRT side effects revealed by the double blind, multi-year study have not changed. We’ve still got stroke, blood clot, breast cancer and heart attack to name just a few.
I don’t know about you, but these are not the kind of side effects I’m looking to experience while seeking menopause relief.
As Jackie Harvey from Let’s Talk About Hormones remarked, ” Hot flashes don’t cause death”. Instead of heading back to HRT, she encourages women to have their hormone levels checked by taking a saliva test. Then follow-up by reducing or increasing the hormone that’s out of whack to an appropriate level for the menopausal stage of life by using plant based, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and an adjusted diet.
How sane does that sound?
Bioidenticals have been around since 1938. They’re not as well known as HRT because they can’t be patented. No patent means less money can be made. No money. No marketing.
We all know that our modern day health system is all about the money. As one researcher commented at the breast cancer conference I just attended, “We’re taking pills, buckets of pills. And we’re not curing anything.”
I have my saliva test results in hand. My next task is to seek out a source for BIHR.

Hi Sue, do you kow anything about animal-tissue based, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy? Here in Siberia we have a preparat called Hemafemin which main component is Siberian deer doe blood (dry substance). (Dont’t worry about the deer doe, she is not killed after the blood is taken - it’s a regular procedure in deer doe’s life). Hemafemin boosts the secretion of hormones naturally. This means that you no longer need synthetic hormones, because your body produces enough estrogen to suppress unpleasant menopause symptoms. It was developed as a natural alternative to HRT. Basically, it’s a dietary supplement that you take at a meal time. It comes come in the form of compounded capsules. If you are interested in details, please check it here:

please don’t consider this comment as a blatant promotion of the product - I thought this information might me interesting for you and your readers. Respectfully yours,
