My Menopause Blog: Live Blogging and Menopausal Math
IMG_0855.JPG

This is NOT ME. Rather this is the very talented and delightfully orange clad Beth Kanter, a Nonprofits and Technology Consultant and blogger I met in California. Here Beth demonstrates her skill as a live laptop blogger with excellent form at the speed of light.

Even though I volunteered to be an official live blogger for BlogHer, I had the good sense to resign my post two weeks before the conference after learning more about The Fine Art of Live Blogging. Watching Beth blog further confirmed that: 1. I’m not made of live blogging material. And wondered 2. What planet was I on?

You see the key to live blogging is liveliness…or speed. Here’s the rub. I don’t do speed. I gave speed up a few years ago when several of the spinning plates I had precariously balanced in mid air came crashing down hard on my head.

Oh what a nasty mess of smashed dreams I had before, behind and all around me. Broke my heart really. Which only goes to prove that break-neck speed should be managed with ultimate care. Now I prefer a non-rushed more contemplative and reflective approach to my tasks and life. I’ve learned or more honestly, I am learning that the slow lane is very scenic and mellow is nice.

Apparently menopause can have this change-your-pace effect on women.

Bailing on the BlogHer Team was not easy yet offered an excellent opportunity for personal growth. Not to sound too self absorbed but it’s not easy for me to back out of an agreement and not feel like a schmuck or failure. Strangely it was the main lyrics of a bad country song released many moons ago that provided me with the pathway toward my salvation.

“You’ve got to know when to hold, know when to fold, know when to walk away, know when to run.”

I realized, perhaps a tad late but not too late, that although I’m a blogger and quite clearly alive, the sum of these two parts does not necessarily add up to a ‘Live Blogger’. In fact much of the math that I’ve used throughout my life doesn’t add up quite right for me anymore.

Menopausal math is quite different. Finally, you get to subtract.

The only thing that hasn’t gone to hell is my typing ability … I can’t remember anything, I can’t move too fast, and all other aspects of my life - I’m slow.

If the typing goes, I don’t know what I’ll do as I can’t write anymore!

It was great to meet you!

Your symptoms suggest you are premenopausal Ginny. You don’t have to have hot flushes to be pre menopausal or menopausal. Everyone is different and you are expressing your hormonal change in your unique way. Mood changes are not uncommon in menopause or pre menopause and there are many natural ways to help your emotions and feel good about yourself. Menopause is a very powerful time of transformation and gives you a chance to reinvent yourself. The first place to start is to nourish your body with herbal infusions.

Hi my name is Christine; I had been using hormonal creams prescribed by my doctor for over four years. These creams included Biest (oestrogen), progestron and testosterone.
I was lead to believe that this was a form of natural hormone replacement therapy; but more recently learned that this can also have the same risks factors that are experienced with the chemical HRT.
I decided to first try the herbal infusion teas and a few weeks later on I tried the herbal medicine recommended by Rhonda; but I still kept using the HRT creams.
About a week after I took the herbal medicine, and I also began eating the fermented soy and seaweed suggested recipes I started to get a light period back. – I must say that this really shocked me as I had my last period about 4 years ago .
I talked to Rhonda about this and she explained that some of the herbs in her menopausal herbal remedy should not be taken with the HRT creams. I did find the creams certainly helped with the menopausal symptoms but the long term risks are quite scary.
I then decided to stop taking the creams altogether and allow the HRT chemicals to gradually get out of my body; then , I would try the menopausethenaturalway programme.
I must say that I could feel the withdrawal affects when I stopped the HRT creams . I started to get back night sweats again and suffered from disturbed sleeps and I could not think straight!
About six weeks ago I started on the menopause thenaturalway program ; firstly, using the herbal infusion teas, and then, the herbal remedy recommended by Rhonda.
After a few weeks I was starting to feel better ; but , was still suffering from night sweats. I then decided to take the homeopathic remedy ,which I chose from the list that Rhonda has in her Eclass., I chose the remedy “ lachesis 30c” because I thought it was appropriate to my personality.
I took six drops of lachesis 30 a day , for 5 days. This homeopathic remedy really helped reduce my night sweats very quickly and I am now finding that I am sleeping a lot better and my mind is thinking straight again which is very pleasing .
I am also taking tribulus tablets which Rhonda has recommended and I do find these are great for my libido.
I must say that I feel safe, healthy ; and have peace of mind, using these natural remedies that are offered in Rhonda’s programme of eclasses.
