I’m now starting my fourth month of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Cream and I have nothing bad to report.
The toughest part has been remembering to slather the stuff on twice a day, which I chock up to the Menopause Remembering Game. This old dog has trouble recalling why she’s standing in the room she’s in. Putting cream on a different location twice a day, in varying amounts or not at all depending on the date is…well….let’s just say that there aren’t enough places to leave the notes required.
Still as one woman told me, “I’m forgetful, not stupid” which I love and have now adopted as my motto. Proudly, I have managed to create a system that gets cream on me at least once each day.
Mornings are the easiest. No doubt the sticky note on my clock helps. And the prominent placement of the cream beside the note does add additional spring to my trigger. But nighttime - I’m simply not awake enough.
Try as I might to pry 10 seconds of cream applying time into the pre-bed scene, I might just as well be attempting an all-nighter. But try I do and try I will and sometimes I’m successful and sometimes - oh well.
Besides this minor irritation, I do feel like I have more energy. I can’t remember when I had my last hot flash - which is not a twisted Menopause Remembering Game symptom. And the occasional night sweats were welcome. I’ve only recently turned on my home heating system.
According to the literature, month four is the stabilizing month.
Upon reflection, I feel pretty stable.

Sue:
I want to start bioidentical HRT now. My symptom is bad sleep, do you use both Estrogen and Progesterone creams? What are their doses? I have an appointment with my doctor next week, I want her to prescript BHRT creams for me. Thanks
