It is January in Canada. Usually a bone-chilling good time that involves heaps of snow, injuries from moving snow and crazy recreation that requires snow.
Instead, here I sit, my furnace turned off, wearing a tank top.
You’d think I’d be happy. Well - given I have taken a vow to LOVE REALITY I am not complaining about not shoveling snow part and am spending much time outside mitt-less. But deep in my core - my inner snow bunny is screaming out - THIS JUST AIN’T RIGHT!
There’s a double whammy going on here. Not only do I have to face the reality of moving into my golden years, my entire identity of being from ‘the true north strong and freezing’ is being challenged.
Between the global warming of the world and my menopause induced personal global warming I worry.
Am I - basic Canadian gal with an expired reproductive best before date - going to become an endangered species like our polar bears?

I don’t have any menopausal warming going on yet, but I wrote today, too, about the unearthly warm days we are having in Boston. Scary.
