A comment on a previous post has inspired what I’m sure will be very practical information.
Where does one turn for reliable menopause information?
Here’s my cheap and cheerful hot flash tip of the day. I’ve had terrific luck finding excellent menopause resources at my public library. This is not because all the librarians are menopausal either.
My library had over 50 meno-titles on the shelf when I made my last visit to the women’s health section. I suspect this would be standard fair for most libraries.
Deciding which books to sign out need not be a taxing experience. First off, library book buyers are prudent with their money. It is unlikely that ‘bad’ menopause books would make it past their discerning budgets. Knowing that the titles have been culled, and remembering that you are borrowing, not buying should further free you up to try a few titles out. In my experience, no one book is going to give you everything you want anyway. Why not enjoy a taste of meno-madness and sign out the maximum.
And remember, your menopause is not a one stop shopping deal. We are all different - our menopause is different - our needs are different. We need to customize our self-education to reflect this truth.
