My Menopause Blog: Where I’m At

I’m now 19 weeks into the pdrecovery.org treatment protocol for Parkinson’s.

I’m showing the early signs of improvement.

My 50th Birthday balloons have deflated but I haven’t thrown them out.

Both night sweats and hot flashes have resumed at a ’slow boil’ range of heat and intensity - manageable but only with my thermostat set at 15C/59F. (Please be advised that all non-meno visitors get blankets.)

My friends are hosting a fun(d)raiser for me on Saturday night.

Me thinks I’m at the epicenter of a miracle.

    Hi Sue,

I was very interested to read about the Parkinson’s treatment that you are using. I never much about Eastern medicine/acupuncture until pregnant with my youngest child. She was breech and I ended up seeing a acupuncturist. The treatment was applying a burning moxa stick to the outside of my pinkie toe (bladder point 67???). It was such a powerful treatment, I actually felt her flip in my belly! That experience made me a true believer!

As for the night sweats you are still having, do you follow the advice on Women to Women? I know they are listed in your ads and I have found great, holistic info there about hormonal balance, reducing meno symptoms, etc. Maybe there is some kind of diet tip or alternative therapy that would work with Parkinson’s treatment and still target your night sweat symptoms? If I find anything specific, I’ll post!

    Hi Sue
My name is Wendy and I went into early menopause 3 years ago, I had the most horific night sweats. I could not believe that in this day and age nobody made any bedding which stayed dry during periods of intence sweating. So not wanting to be beaten by these sweats I decided to make myself some bedding which wicks moisture away from the body and yes it realy does stay dry. I have now developed the bedding and my Web Site went live last month. I do hope this helps and I promise it realy does what it says on the tin.
    Wendy
